What is the School Holiday Coding Camp?
Our School Holiday Coding Camp is an exciting and educational program designed for children to learn the fundamentals of coding in a fun and interactive environment. Kids will engage in hands-on activities, coding challenges, and creative projects while developing problem-solving skills.
Who can attend the camp?
The camp is open to children aged 7-14. No prior coding experience is required, as we offer beginner-friendly sessions as well as more advanced levels for those with prior knowledge.
What programming languages will be taught?
Depending on the age group and skill level, we introduce children to block-based and text-based coding concepts suitable for their learning stage.
When and where does the camp take place?
The camp runs during school holidays at Carnes Hill Community Centre, NSW in south-west Sydney. Sessions typically last from 9am-3pm, and the full program runs for 2 days.
What should my child bring?
Participants should bring a USB, a water bottle, and snacks/lunch if attending a full-day session. Laptops will be provided and are subsidised in the cost of the camp. All necessary software and materials will be provided.
Who are the instructors?
Our instructors are experienced coding educators with backgrounds in computer science, engineering, and education. They are passionate about teaching and creating a supportive learning environment. See our ‘What We Do’ page for more information from our co-founders
What will my child learn at the camp?
Children will learn:
Coding basics and logic
How to create games and animations
Problem-solving and computational thinking
Teamwork and creativity through coding projects
What if my child has no prior coding experience?
No problem! Our camp is designed to cater to beginners as well as those with some experience. We tailor our lessons to suit different learning levels.
Can siblings or friends attend together?
Yes! We encourage siblings and friends to join the camp together. If you are registering multiple children, check if there are any sibling discounts available.
What safety measures are in place?
The safety of our students is our top priority. A qualified teacher will be onsite supervising the students. Class sizes are small, with a maximum of 20 per classroom. We have trained staff, and all activities take place in a secure environment.
